1st timer. Thank you for all your help. My 2nd year growing

Today and yeaterday it was 102F in the shade here in Sylauga AL. Living out in the country, it is always about five degrees hotter in the summer, and five deegrees colder in the winter than in the city where the temperature is recorded. All my plants are mulched, and I've had to switch to daily watering, some plants twice a day to keep my garden going. In July, I start transitioning to a fall garden. In a week, I'll plant fall potatoes, and on July 15th, I'll do seed starts for cabbage, and sow carrot and turnip seeds. In Auguast, I'll sow seed starts for cauliflower and broccoli. Then it is time for the ground cherries, summer squash, and carrots to come out. In September, I'll sow seeds for Yellow Heart Winter Choy and Boc Choy, and in October-garlic. I don't have my fall garden completely planned out, so there may be other plantings. My chicken run has arrived, so tomorrow and Friday I will be assembling it. It won't be long before the little chicks are moved out to their new home. The puma has returned; we lost another cat, Sneaky Pete, last night.

Great timing on the video. I think I’ll try planting more beans, cucumbers, basil and maybe a sunflower. But I lol have to defend against the deer and squirrels. 😊 Does the scallop squash spread? I have never grown squash because of how wide the vines grows, so maybe this variety won’t spread as much. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Can you tell me what soil to buy and I’m going to try this weekend to pick up all my supplies to start.

Good kim is it little too late to start peppers seeds because I want to grow habanero peppers 🌶🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅

Love this idea and have already bought what i need for my tomatoes. However, when I started thinking about watering them (when I fertilize using a gallon watering can) Can't figure out how to get the spout inside and reach the whole container. Have experience with that?

I put up 5 garden umbrellas..can put them up and down as needed. Plus looks fun.

Up here in Lake County, Cal, MarkDgardnr is dealing with another year of battling spider mites. I like your advice of spraying off the plant in the morning and treating the soil in my battle with spider mites' sap sucking critters.

My dried rosemary lost its green color when I left it out to dry and it got wet from the rain but dried again. However , it became a dark brown color. Is it still good?

OMG! Today is Monday. I missed the show. Temps here in Sylacauga AL have reached the triple digits, and worse it is humid. The heat index is about ten degrees hotter. June has been an unusual drought month, with not a single drop of rain all month. To keep my garden alive, I’ve started doing full garden daily watering. I have a lot of cantaloupe growing, and am taking regular harvests of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, pole beans, and squash. My chicken coop is assembled, and as predator proof as I can make it with stone pavers surrounding it, and the run. I have a 125 sq ft chicken run that was supposed to be delivered today, but was delayed. Maybe tomorrow? I have tomatoes; I have peppers, celantro, and garlic too. All I need is onions, then it is salsa time! The chicks are two weeks old, maybe a few days older. Their wings are fully feathered, and the tail feathers have grown in. It is warm enough that they no longer need the heat pad to warm them. They have started digging in the bedding, roosting on a perch, and fluttering about. One flew up to the top of the brooder box, and perched on the edge. I thought it would be Goldie, the most developed, or Raven, the escape artist, that would be the first to leave the brooder box. It was neither, Bella was the first to fly up to the top. The first time I have to chase one, or more, of the escapees, I’ll put chicken wire over the top to stop them. It won’t be long, about a week, before I move them out to the hen house and its run. When they get a little larger, I’ll let them out to explore the larger run.

Heat and no wind, not good. Two church members needed oxygen and the ambulance showed up during the service. No AC but all fans on. My poor kitties hide under the bed and in the closet where its cooler. Hand watering late evenings and at times again early morning, keeps plants cool and me too! 95 degrees and no wind 🙄🔥

Missed it. Was about 102 right now here in Bishop, CA and there is a thunderstorm coming in. It's around 87 out side right now. I watered a little to the plants. I am glad to see my Roma Tomatoes coming in, almost red. I am the guy that had posted one time about planting in a dryer bin from seeds, they are coming in great. Tomatoes are growing in and the plants are growing. The black container is almost nice and red tomatoes (Roma), and the plant is finally growing some. The raised garden bed from using old scrape wood the Summer Set tomatoes, Wax Pepper and another pepper are coming in good, plant is growing and showing flowers coming in. I have a 5 gallon bucket with Hot Peppers and they are looking ok and the plant is growing. Thanks for always sharing good garden video's. I had 1 container / cooler of tomatoes, all tomatoes died in it. The whole plant turned brown and fell apart. But it's all good. Keep cool!

I'm growing a spacemaster cucumber in a container. The fruit doesn't turn dark green, and stays pale and even yellow on a large part of it. They don't taste good either. I live in inland San Diego, so there is plenty of sun and heat. It is in full sun, and I keep the soil moist and use a slow release fertilizer. Do you have any thoughts why the fruit doesn't ripen properly? Thanks, Lisa
